Wreckage:

For Lillian, a normal everyday housewife, this trip to Fiji is an unusual escape for her everyday, mundane life.  One that if she were to be completely honest with herself, she wasn't completely looking forward to.  Margaret, Lillian's mother in law, won a trip of a lifetime and having never taken a vacation just herself and her daughter-in-law, felt this would be a great way for the two to bond.

Never in a million years could the passengers aboard that small little private jet imagine the chaos that lies before them.  Strangers when they board the plane, they will find themselves intimate over the next several months in a way that only people who are trapped together with a common trauma can be.

What begins as a peaceful flight, ends so very violently.  What's left are just fragments of what used to be.  The survivors must now cling to their lives and fight for their survival.

The story is told jumping from the present day to the past.  The story is told while Lillian is giving what she hopes to be the final interview so that she can finally put the 2 1/2 years she fought for survival and her life behind her and focus on her family.  We also hear Dave's side of the story as he recounts his part of the story for the reporter.

Their story that they are telling to the world, while not fully the truth, is a truth that they have fabricated to help their loved ones to deal with the lost years.

The reporter thinks that she knows the real truth.  That their story is a story of a "Love Triagle", she believes that Lillian and Kent were in love and that Dave was overcome with jealousy over the love shared by Lillian and Kent.  However, that is so far from the truth it's almost laughable.  In a way, hearing this, Dave is overcome with peace that the "Real Truth" is safely tucked away in he confines of their minds.

With a plane ride that started out with five passengers, only two people will survive long enough to see their final rescue after two and a half years stranded on a deserted island.  The scars that are with them are not visible and cannot be easily healed.

This really was a gripping story.  I stayed up most of the night trying to devour each and every word.  I couldn't wait to read what happened to Lillian and Dave next.  Although there were a good few bits that I was able to correctly predict, there were a few surprises and twists and turns as well.

One of the nicest surprises came towards the end.  To see a husband so accepting of his wife and the life she made when survival was the only option, was incredibly beautiful and touching.  To see that when the truth comes to light, it frees not only you, but everyone involved.

I really urge those of you who love psychological thrillers, mysteries, those types of books to give this book a chance!!  It really is attention grabbing.  There wasn't one dull moment.
